About Us

The Irish Orthopaedic Trainees' Association (IOTA) is a representative body run by trainees, for trainees.  Although most members are Specialist Registrars with a national training number, membership is open to all orthopaedic NCHDs.

IOTA plays an important role as liaison between the Education Committee of Irish Institute of Trauma and Orthopaedic Surgery (IITOS) and the trainees. IOTA has a very good working relationship with Irish Surgical Training Group (ISTG), British Orthopaedic Trainees Association (BOTA) and the Federation of Orthopaedic Trainees in Europe(FORTE).

The IOTA committee is appointed annually by open elections and are responsible to running of IOTA related business. Our primary aim is to represent the views of the orthopaedic trainees as a group and to provide individual advocacy for trainees when required.
